• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age

  • Reports to: Aquatics Manager

  • Compensation: $19.00–$26.00/hr

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Swim Coach assists with day-to-day training of swim team participants, runs effective and fun practices, places children in appropriate groups for practices and meets, and supports communication at parent meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act in a caring and responsible manner while fulfilling job expectations

  • Be a team player with strong communication skills

  • Maintain current certifications in First Aid, AED, and CPR-PR

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of swimming rules and regulations

  • Bring competitive swimming experience (preferred)

  • Be available to work evenings and holidays as needed

  • Maintain an energetic and enthusiastic attitude

Skill and Educational Requirements:

  • Experience overseeing a large swim lesson program (preferred)

  • Knowledge of lifeguarding techniques and drowning rescue procedures

  • Knowledge of first aid procedures used in pool operations

  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations with good judgment

  • Sufficient physical strength and conditioning to rescue swimmers

  • Ability to enforce pool safety rules firmly and courteously

  • Ability to demonstrate CPR and rescue breathing skills within certification standards

  • Ability to work courteously with staff and the public while supporting safety and teamwork

Certifications:

  • CPR certification and Lifeguard Training certification are required
